Window Solutions joins Hunter Douglas and the Window Covering Safety Council and the US Consumer Products Safety Commission by encouraging our customers to install only cordless window coverings in rooms where young children are usually playing and sleeping.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission calls corded window coverings one of the top five hidden hazards in American homes, with infants and children accidentally becoming entangled in window blind cords. We would love to show you cordless alternatives or products with inaccessible cords.
Prevention begins with awareness
- Position cribs, beds, playpens and other furniture away from windows.
- Check your current window fashions for exposed or dangling cords. Move cords out of reach of children.
- If possible, replace corded window fashions with cordless options.
- Permanently anchor continuous-loop window fashion cords to the wall.
